Psychedelic Baby

My older sister gave me a few outfits that my niece wore and I found this one & thought it was kinda groovy.

Lil Miss Sassy

Well, I did it this time. I'm a little embaressed, but I am on WIC. I'm not ashamed because we do need it. Anyhow, I made the mistake of leaving my WIC card on the kitchen counter instead of putting it back in my wallet and we suspect that Noah grabbed it off the counter and threw it away. We have to watch Noah these days because he is tall enough now to grab things within arms reach and throw them away. He thinks he is helping momma because I give him trash and tell him to throw it away. So, of course, Dustin was upset, but I explained to him, that this is just one of those things because of our luck. We seem to have the worst luck sometimes. Losing the card is no biggie, but when I called WIC to see if my card had came in (I called the 1800 # last week and it is supposed to take six days to come to the WIC office) there was a message that said they would be closed until September 7th. What the F? They didn't tell me nothing about being closed when I called to ask what to do about losing my card. All they said was that they would be at a different location when I came to pick it up. My luck, during the move, they'll lose it and it'll take another three weeks to get it. So, needless to say, that ruined my plans for the day, so I stayed home. Before I called WIC though, I was playing with Livi Lu-Lu and doing one of my favorite things...."Air Plane Baby". I lay down in the floor and lift her up, holding her under the arms and kinda wiggle her around and say, "Air Plane Baby". She loves it so much!!! She giggles and smiles to a point where my heart melts. I always wanted to do it with Noah, but because he spit up so much, I was scared to.

I put her in the cutest outfit that I got from my sister Crystal. It's a little sun dress type shirt that ties around the neck and shows off her back. Dusty was joking and said it showed too much skin, but hey, she's just a lil baby and I like showing her off.

Park Fun Day

This morning we took Noah and Olivia to the park here in Whitehouse. With it being so hot, we hadn't really been giving Bub a fair amout of outside time, but hopefully with the cool weather coming, we'll be able to do a lot more outside activities. Noah had a blast. He ran around the park from one thing to another. It was so much fun. I love watching my Noah having a blast.

Olivia's Photo Shoot

I just love taking pictures of my baby Olivia. She is such a sweetie. While Noah and Dustin were taking a nap, Olivia and I thought it would be a great idea to do a photo shoot.

First Veggies

Tonight we thought we'd let Olivia try a jar of baby food. The other night, she had tried rice cereal and ate three spoonfuls without pushing it out. We choose carrots, and let's just say that Olivia did not care for it. She kept making funny faces and pushing it out. Noah however, was going, "umf, umf" and opening his mouth, so I gave him a little spoonful of the carrots. He loved them! Dustin and I were tripping out because we can barely get Noah to eat anything and here he was eating baby food. He ended up eating the whole jar. Later on, he got in Olivia's swing and started swinging. I took a picture real quick before I got onto him for being in Sissy's swing. I think he's starting to revert back to the baby stage, lol.

My babies

I came home this morning to the cutest little message...it melted my heart. Daddy had a hand in it, but it was cute.

I miss my little ones. I thought that night shift was going to work perfectly...work twelve hours, get three days over with, be off a lot of days and spend tons of time with the family, but I am starting to realize that it doesn't work like that. Well, then again, it kinda does, but I really miss my family on the days I do work. Don't get me wrong, I'm not going to quit the night shift, but man, I miss my bebes! I do have to admit, three days in a row fly by because I work twelve hours and then come home and sleep until it's time to go to work again. I get to see the babes for a little while before work and a little while when I get home before they go to daycare. I miss playing with the babies when they get home from school and I miss thier daddy. We so need a night out to ourselves soon. I have one more night to work and then I'm off for six days. The plan is to go bowling tommorow. Hopefully this time, we'll be able to bowl. I think I want to surprise Dustin and set it up to maybe spend a night in Dallas, or just have my sister or his parents watch the kids for the night. We'll see...

Here's some pics I took in the last week of my wee little ones...........gosh I love them.

A few days off

Well, I'm on day six of my eight days off and so far, it's been great. I've got the laundry pretty much caught up, the living room has been staying clean (when Noah's not around), and Dustin and I have been able to spend some time toghether. Today we planned on going bowling in Tyler, but when we got there, they were closed because they were redoing the floors or something. So, we decided to go eat at Applebee's. After that, we called Jville bowling alley and they don't open till 5pm, but tonight is league night, so that wasn't going to work out. I thought we would go to this exotic fish place on the Loop and to my surprise, it was closed too. What the heck? we finally get to go out, and everything is closed!! How crazy is that? So, needless to say, we just came back home. I need to go swimming and work on tanning my pale chub, but I would rather sleep than swim...isn't that sad? What's even sadder is that I actually miss work because I've been off so long. I really like it up there on night shift. Everyone is nice and willing to help me when I get into a jam (like with orders that I've never put into the system before). I think I'm going to stay here for a long time. After my six months is up, I plan on trying to take a class or two at a time since I can get it re-embursed up there. I'm wanting to get at least my bachleors degree in Nursing, but we'll see. Dustin even wants to try to get on up there at the hospital too, but we've got to find him something that will work with mine and the kids schedule. That's going to be fun trying to coordinate all that if we do get him on up there.

The kids went to the doctor yesterday. Noah had his 18mth checkup and Olivia had her 4mth checkup. Noah weighs 24 lbs and Olivia weighs 14 lbs. It was nice to get to go to the doctor and be there for my babies when they got thier shots. Both babies got shots, but Olivia had one in each rump. They both got five stars from the doctor and we took them to daycare after thier visit. After we picked them up, poor Livi was running a fever, so I gave her tylenol and put her to bed because she was very grumpy. Noah never ran fever after any of his shots, so I wasn't expecting that. But when she woke up this morning, she was fine. I couldn't help but check on her through the night to make sure she was ok.

Olivia's new feather bow. She looks like a showgirl.

A picture for mama

Noah was bored tonight, so I thought I'd let him try markers. Let's just say that maybe we should stick with crayons...lol. Love that Bub.
Big smiles from Noah James because he gets to draw!

Noah drawing quietly for the time being...lol

My goodness

Well, I'm not going to lie to you...last night was my first full 12 hours working the night shift and it was BORING!!! I had worked on call the night before and worked 7 till 2, but got sent home due to the lack of activity, but I think there was more action that night than last night. I know it won't always be like this, and according to a few people, it rarely happens, but gosh, I needed some action last night. Maybe tonight will be better. I just don't know what it is, but before I had kids, I don't think I could have handled this job when it got stressfull (and yes, despite the slow times, it does get stressful). I honestly feel confident in my ability to handle the stress. We'll see though.

Lately, Noah has been a Big Whiny baby. Not to sound like a mean or bad mom, but what is this new stage all about? For example... I got home this morning and helped Dusty get the kids ready by fixing Bub's lunch. He had a granola square in front of him, munching away, but as soon as I got the cheese out to fix him a grilled cheese for lunch, he started whining. So, I gave him a slice of cheese. Everything was allright till I finished the grilled cheese and he started whining for that (I'm guessing). Dustin called for me, so I left Bub in the floor to throw his tantrum over the grilled cheese. He was still crying in the floor when I came back to the kitchen! So, I thought I'd count to 3.......didn't work. I tried to get with him face to face and explain that he needed to eat what he had in front of him......didn't work. So, I took him to the corner and told him that until he stopped crying, he would not get out of the corner. It WORKED!!! What the heck??? For being a big boy, I gave him his cup that has a straw in it and let him drink his juice out of it (straw drinks are rewards to Bub...what a simple child, lol). Maybe this time out thing really works. I hope it wasn't a fluke. I believe spare the rod, spoil the child.......but, and I mean BIG BUT, Noah is a little fellow who is just now learning things. Spanking him too much now can affect his self esteem, right? Any how, I'm trying to limit my "Roddings".

Saturday was the same thing, he threw a fit that he couldn't play with sister's tummy time splash toy and for the first time, he was going to intentionally hit her, so I interveined and swatted his arm. I felt so bad, but what do I do? In the end, after I got her up off the toy, I let him play with it for a while. I caught his meltdown on camera. Let me just say, parenthood is not as easy as some people would make you believe. :)
Olivia enjoying her splash toy

"Mom, what's that whining I hear??"

"Oh, that's just Bub throwing a fit in the floor because he can't play with my toy...no biggie"

Still throwing a tantrum....

Uh, yeah, still throwing a tantrum...

Noah always wins in the end

How time flys!

Well, can you belive that it's been a month since I started at Mother Frances?!?!? I really like it up there at work. On day shift, it's very fast pace, but I have really caught on quickly. I think I caught on a little too well because they wanted me to learn how to do baby charts and I got cross trained on the Mother/Baby unit. Tommorow is my last day on the day shift and Sunday I start working nights. I'm excited, but a little scared. I got to know all the nurses and doctors on the day shift, and now I'm going to have to work with all new people. Boy oh boy. I was so shocked the other day when I was eating lunch in the breakroom. A few of us were eating and a nurse that hasn't really warmed up to me started chatting me up. She ended up giving me the greatest compliment. She said that I had really learned the job quick and I was doing great. She said that she had been there long enough to see a lot of people in that job and they had never picked it up as quick as I had. A scrub tech I like was in there and she aggreed. How awesome is that? Some people really surprise you sometimes. Needless to say, I have a new perspective on this nurse.

On another note, Olivia is really growing up. Within the past month she has had so many firsts. She can hold her own head up, grab toys, try to eat her feet, started sleeping through the night, rolling over, and started laughing and talking out loud. She is going to be walking before we know it. When I get home, I usually sit in my comfy chair with her and feed her while Noah and Dusty play. When I get done feeding her, I usually put her in the floor and we all take turns trying to make her laugh. Noah is really warming up to her. We'll be burping her or holding her and he'll come over and give her a hug or a "head butt" kiss. For some odd reason, when we tell Bub to give us kisses, he'll lean his head forward and slam his forehead into your cheek. He's so silly. He has really been jabbering up a storm. He can say "nanner" for bananna, "siter" for sissy, "nigh, nigh" for nite nite, and "kityi" for kitty. Other than that, I have no idea what he's saying. Our little one's are growing up so much. Maybe it's time to start thinking about another one...just joking (or AM I?!? :) ).

Olivia has such a sweet little smile!

No more canned spaghetti for Bub...way too much sauce!
