Halloween Fun!

Well, it's that time of year again...a time when all the spooks go out and trick or treat. We started off our Halloween with a bottle for Livi. This seemed strangely farmiliar...to last year.
This year, we dressed Livi as a little cat, Bub and Dusty as a Doctor, and me as a Nurse. The night didn't start out so well because right off the bat, Livi was screaming her head off even after her bottle. I took all the paint off her face and that seemed to calm her down. Maybe she was allergic to it. Anyhow, we went to one of the nicer additions in town and started on our Halloween trek.

Noah was a little apprehensive when we first started, but by the end of it all, he was running to get candy from people!

Livi made a new friend and as the night went on, we saw lots of old friends. I'm getting that de ja vu feeling again...
Just when we started to get into our groove, I went to pick Livi up to take a picture with Michael Myers and noticed she was wet. She made a boo boo. Michael would not have apreciated that very much, so we told him that we'd see him next year and trekked back to our car. It took us forever to find it, but we finally did and I changed Livi real quick. We decided to go over to Nanny & Paw Paws because they had been wanting to see the kids and give them thier treats, so we made a house call.
"Did someone call for a doctor??"
After visiting with Nanny and Paw Paw, we made our way back home. Noah stripped out of his costume and begged me for some candy. I gave him a few M&Ms before sending him to bed for the night.

F.A.D.

Well, last night was F.A.D. at work or in other words...Faye Apreciation Day. I guess it would be F.A.N. since I work nights, but let's just skip the technicalities. The nurses were joking around one night that I needed a F.A.D. because I was doing such a good job. I thought they were just joking and I still think they made it into a day so that everyone could have some of April's homemade enchiladas, but hey, I'll take it. I came in and the dayshift even wished me a happy F.A.D.! I even got a certificate of AWESOMENESS presented to me by AO. Those ladies are so crazy, but never the less, I felt really special. It was so sweet of them to do that for me and I'll have to think of some way to say thank you.

I made Jennifer take this picture, but she was a good sport about it.

A New Hobby?

A woman who works at the daycare made a few bows that were maroon with orange tiger print on them and was selling them at the daycare. Dusty bought me one and I had an idea...what if I make Livi some bows myself? I'm always on the lookout for fancy bows and I just haven't came across any really fancy ones (I don't get out much, so there's probablly some out there, I just haven't seen them). Anyhow, I had a bit of ribbon, but I went to Hobby Lobby...my all time favorite place in the whole wide world by the way...and bought some barretts, gems, and a little more ribbon. I did the usual You Tube research and found a few good bow making videos and tried to copy them. The first one I made didn't come out so great because I couldn't find my glue gun, so I used super glue. Livi was asleep and I couldn't go rummaging through my closet right then and I so wanted to try my bow making skills out.

The next day, I tried again, this time with a glue gun! I made two more, before heading back to hobby lobby for more supplies.

I ended up buying a few flowers, some butterflies, more headbands, and three more rolls of ribbon. The ribbon was half off this week, so yay!! I actually went back to Hobby Lobby the second time because they had a big tub of jewels for $16 that I was going to see if it was half off because the add showed jewels, but alas, it was not on sale. Good news though, they will be on sale next week, so I can't forget!

I can't believe how much fun I had making the bows. I love being crafty, but I think I've found more than a new hobby. I was playing with the idea of making up some and putting them in our shop, but I feel like I've stolen the idea from the woman at daycare. I honestly had no intention of selling them, I just wanted to make Livi loo some bows, but I can see where it could be profitable and FUN at the same time. I'm going to practice a bit more and do some more research on it though before I jump in and start selling them. Believe it or not, there are a ton of different styles of bows. I have a few more ideas, but I'm going to keep it low key right now because I would hate for someone to steal my ideas. I've been wanting to start my own "line" of custom made products and have had the idea in my head for about a year or so now. I think I've finally found my niche. Now what to do with it...

Meeyow!

I bought Livi a cat kit for halloween that has an ear headband, a tail, a neck bow, and a nose with whiskers. Today when I was looking for her something to wear, I found the cutest little leopard print outfit that a friend had given me. I thought I'd put her cat ears on and take some pictures. That Livi loo melts my heart. Dusty was behind me trying to make her laugh and I got quite a few great shots. She is officially becoming a daddy's girl because she can't get enough of him. I love it!

That's my Bub for you...

Noah has gotten really good about feeding himself....when we sit there and watch him like a hawk. For the most part we sit and eat together as a family, sometimes Dusty and I leave Noah strapped into his booster chair while we change Livi, pick up the house...you get the idea. No sooner do we leave the kitchen, we come back to find Noah, covered in whatever it is he eating. It could be a turkey sandwhich and it would be all over the place. Kids are going to make messes, but why is it so fun to play in their food? I would love to know what he thinks when he squishes stuff into his hair. Oh to be a child again. :)
