A New Hobby?

A woman who works at the daycare made a few bows that were maroon with orange tiger print on them and was selling them at the daycare. Dusty bought me one and I had an idea...what if I make Livi some bows myself? I'm always on the lookout for fancy bows and I just haven't came across any really fancy ones (I don't get out much, so there's probablly some out there, I just haven't seen them). Anyhow, I had a bit of ribbon, but I went to Hobby Lobby...my all time favorite place in the whole wide world by the way...and bought some barretts, gems, and a little more ribbon. I did the usual You Tube research and found a few good bow making videos and tried to copy them. The first one I made didn't come out so great because I couldn't find my glue gun, so I used super glue. Livi was asleep and I couldn't go rummaging through my closet right then and I so wanted to try my bow making skills out.

The next day, I tried again, this time with a glue gun! I made two more, before heading back to hobby lobby for more supplies.

I ended up buying a few flowers, some butterflies, more headbands, and three more rolls of ribbon. The ribbon was half off this week, so yay!! I actually went back to Hobby Lobby the second time because they had a big tub of jewels for $16 that I was going to see if it was half off because the add showed jewels, but alas, it was not on sale. Good news though, they will be on sale next week, so I can't forget!

I can't believe how much fun I had making the bows. I love being crafty, but I think I've found more than a new hobby. I was playing with the idea of making up some and putting them in our shop, but I feel like I've stolen the idea from the woman at daycare. I honestly had no intention of selling them, I just wanted to make Livi loo some bows, but I can see where it could be profitable and FUN at the same time. I'm going to practice a bit more and do some more research on it though before I jump in and start selling them. Believe it or not, there are a ton of different styles of bows. I have a few more ideas, but I'm going to keep it low key right now because I would hate for someone to steal my ideas. I've been wanting to start my own "line" of custom made products and have had the idea in my head for about a year or so now. I think I've finally found my niche. Now what to do with it...
