Thanksgiving at Daycare

So after Mary and I had our sister night, I had to get the kids ready for their Thanksgiving day at Daycare. Aren't they cute??

Bunny Bait

For daycare, I decided to try a friend's recipe for bunny bait. I was supposed to use Chex Mix instead of Kix, but I had that on hand and the kids like Kix more. Here's the ingredient list:

Kix
White Popcorn
1/2 bag Pink Candy Wafers (found at Walmart or Hobby Lobby)
1/2 bag White Candy Wafers
Marshmallows
Pretzel Sticks
Easter Sprinkles
Tin Foil
Bunny Bags
Ribbon or twistie ties
Scrapbook Paper

So first things first, you pop your corn and then on a foil lined cookie sheet, combine the popcorn, kix, and pretzels.
Melt your white candy wafers first and evenly pour over the mix.

I then put gloves on (because this gets messy!!!) and mixed it up until it was all coated.
Melt the pink candy wafers and pour over the top (use a spoon so you get it all over nice and evenly...you're not going to mix this up). And then add the M&Ms and sprinkles while it is still hot so that they stick.

Once Cooled, break the bait apart and put into bags. Tie with a ribbon and add the bunny Bait Tag.

To make the tags, I used scrapbook paper and found some bunny clipart on the internet. I added a box to make it look like the bunny was holding a sign and put "From: Olivia M and From: Noah M" to make it a little more special. Then I simply copied/pasted several to a page and printed them out. I used craft scissors to add a decorative look, then hole punched the tag and tied them with a twistie tie. Ribbon will work too.

Pootie was none too happy to wear her easter outfit to daycare...poor baby.

Noah's First Play

So my sweet little Noah got picked to be Joseph in his play for daycare. I got to work making him an authentic Joseph looking costume. It wasn't that great, but hey, I tried. Noah had one line to say, "J is for Joseph". You see, all the kids had one line because it was related to the ABCs of Christmas. My poor baby got up there and got scared and wouldn't say anything. Thankfully his teacher and Dustin's cousin was there and came up behind him and held him and said "J is for Joseph". It was a very sweet thing to do. Since it was Dustin's birthday as well, we went out to eat after the play to celebrate. Dustin and I both could care less about our birthdays, but we at least go out to dinner. He turned 31 this year! What an old man! :)

Daycare Pictures

So, the daycare that Olivia and Noah go to takes pictures every fall. Noah took some really great ones, but I can't say that Livi took good ones. Apparently she was a sick that day and had also been crying before the picture. I hope this isn't the beginning of bad picture taking. :( The ones of Livi from last year were not that great either, so it's not looking so good.

Noah's Drawings

Noah and Olivia both bring home drawings from daycare and I look at it and usually put it away in my memory box. Lately, we've noticed some of his drawings have some notes on the side that tell what the drawing is. We thought it was just hilarious because there's no way of knowing what the squiggle is and someone actually wrote what it was on the paper. Too funny!

Getting Down on the way to daycare

There's nothing I love more than taking the kids to daycare. We turn the music up and watch them dance and b-bop till we reach daycare. This isn't the best video of them dancing, but it gives you an idea of why it's one of my favorite things. Sometimes they b-bop so much they shake the whole car! (Oh and by the way, Dusty was videoing while I was driving...gotta be safe with these babies, ya know?)

My baby is 2!!!

Last night I made Noah cute little button that he could wear to daycare so everyone would know he was 2 years old!!

I got to work on his goody bags that he can pass out at his party. I did party blowers, beads, noise makers, ring pops, etc. Hope I have enough. I made twelve.
Noah and I had a little fun with the silly glasses I put in the bag. He kept wanting me to put them on him, but he'd take them right back off. What a silly boy!
